Stairs of Helsinki Cathedral
Information:
An event that is organized by the Lutheran Church in Helsinki, Orthodox Parish of Helsinki and Regional ecumenism in Helsinki.
An ecumenical prayer moment for Ukraine and for the peace of the world on the stairs of Helsinki Cathedral on Easter Monday. The event begins with chiming of the church bells for peace.
The event continues inside at Crypt until 1.30pm after the events outside.
Cantores Minores and the youth choir of the Orthodox Church will perform on the stairs of Helsinki Cathedral. The deputy mayor of Helsinki Daniel Sazonov will bring greetings to the event. Representatives from many churches will speak at the event and say prayers for peace. An Easter hymn will be song on the stairs in different languages and also the hymn 600 of the Finnish hymnbook.
Cross processions from different congregations will walk to the Cathedral. Also Ukrainians that have come to Helsinki will come together to pray for peace.
